Acer Ultra-Fast Predator Helios laptops with a base price of 2799 euros

Acer is preparing Ultra Fast Predator Helios series laptops With cases Raptor Lake-HX Refresh 14th generation of Intel company and top graphics cards RTX 40 of Nvidia company.
Intel’s 14th generation Raptor Lake-HX processors will retain their position as high-end chips in laptops such as Acer’s next-generation Predator Helios, despite the release of Meteor Lake chips.
Several times, various information regarding Intel’s 14th generation Raptor Lake-HX Refresh processors has been revealed. We’ve also seen these processors in several high-end laptop configurations. Except in a few instances, the processor lineup mostly offers a slight boost in clock frequency, similar to what we’ve seen in the 14th Gen Raptor Lake Refresh desktop processor family. But there must be a good reason why Intel is updating its high-end HX series, even if it also offers Meteor Lake Core Ultra processors for laptops.
Comparison of Meteor Lake-H and Raptor Lake HX series chips
Intel’s Meteor Lake-H series chips have only 16 cores and 45W TDP (PL1), while Raptor Lake HX processors have up to 24 cores and 55W TDP (PL1). This makes them perfect for high-end gaming. At the same time, that doesn’t mean we can’t see high-end laptop configurations with a Meteor Lake chip. As previously reported, the 14th generation HX family is a better option for users looking for an alternative to portable desktops.
Specifications of Ultra Fast Predator Helios laptops
In this way, Acer will update its Predator Helios laptop with Intel’s Core i9 14900HX processors. This processor with 24 cores (8 + 16) and 32 threads offers a base frequency of 2.4 GHz and a boost clock of 5.8 GHz. The chip also has 36MB of L3 cache. In addition, the chip in question has a base maximum power consumption (TDP) of 55 watts and a MTP (maximum turbo power) of 157 watts.
The Predator Helios laptop comes in 18-inch (IPS WQXGA 240Hz) and 16-inch (MiniLED WQXGA 250Hz) designs with up to 32GB DDR5 memory and up to 2TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD storage. Both laptops have a 90 watt-hour battery and weigh 3.25 kg and 2.70 kg respectively.

ACER Predator 16 PH16-72 – Core i9-14900HX / 16GB DDR5 / 1TB SSD / RTX 4080 – £2799.99
We can expect these high-end laptops to be available around the same time as Intel’s Meteor Lake series, which hits the market on December 14. Additionally, CES 2024 is still a month away, so most OEMs may want to wait until then to unveil their latest laptop offerings.
