Al-Sisi and Pelosi’s conversation about regional developments



According to IRNA from Turkey’s Anatolia news agency, the statement of the presidency of Egypt states: “Nancy Pelosi”, the speaker of the US House of Representatives, met and talked with the president of this country, “Abd al-Fattah al-Sisi” on Thursday evening.

The statement of the Egyptian presidency states that El-Sisi met with Pelosi on the sidelines of the global climate change summit, which began on Sunday and will continue until November 18 (Aban 27), in Sharm el-Sheikh, located in eastern Egypt.

In this meeting, the President of Egypt discussed the decades-long strategic relations between Egypt and the United States and emphasized Egypt’s desire to strengthen these relations in all dimensions, within the framework of mutual respect and common interests.

Referring to the negative consequences of successive global crises, especially the Corona epidemic and the crisis in Russia and Ukraine, he emphasized that dealing with these consequences requires solidarity.

On the other hand, the Speaker of the US House of Representatives pointed out the good relations between Washington and Egypt and said: Egypt is a pillar of security and stability in the Middle East and the Arab world and a key partner of America in the region.

In this meeting, the latest developments in Palestine and the situation in Syria, Libya and Yemen were discussed.

The 27th Conference of Parties to the United Nations Climate Change Convention (COP27) is being held from November 15 to 27, 1401 (November 6 to 18, 2022) in the city of Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, at the same time as the 30th anniversary of the formation of this convention.
