America: We welcome the release of two British citizens

State Department spokesman Ned Price told reporters on Wednesday evening that “we are also working every day to secure the release of our citizens, including Murad Tahabaz, an American-British citizen,” who claimed that they had been detained illegally.

According to IRNA, Zabihullah Khodaeian, a spokesman for the judiciary, announced on Wednesday that Nazanin Zaghari had been released after serving a full sentence, and Anousheh Assyri had been released after serving about half of her sentence.
The Iranian judiciary official added: Zaghari was sentenced to four years in prison on charges of spying for the British intelligence service.
A spokesman for the judiciary added: “Of course, Zaghari has another case in which he was sentenced to one year in prison, but this case has not been executed yet.”
Khodaeian also commented on the judicial situation in the case of Anousheh Ashouri: Mr. Anousheh Ashouri was sentenced to 10 years in prison for espionage for collaborating with foreign security services, and about four years and seven months have passed since she was sentenced. Conditioned.
