Ammar Film Festival A cinema similar to the people themselves

Fars News Agency-Cinema Group, Omid Sohrabi: When it was first held, few predicted that a small, unknown festival could gain national fame and make such a fuss; But this happened and the “Ammar” film festival found its place in Iranian cinema.

It was in the middle of 2010 that whispers of a small film festival were heard on the occasion of the epic anniversary of December 30, 2009. The festival, called “Ammar”, was designed by a group of concerned young people and several revolutionary artists.

At first, many thought that this festival, like dozens of other festivals, would be held for one period and would be stopped due to low reception and would be recorded and forgotten in a corner of Iranian cinematic history; But they did not know that the worried young men of “Ammar” had come to the square with iron shoes, and they were not going to leave the field so easily and get tired.

After a few days, the call for the first edition of the Ammar Festival was announced, and many young people in the country, who had not previously had the opportunity to enter Iranian fiction and documentary cinema, regained their motivation and did their best to make the best works they could. Produce and send to this festival. Works that, although not professional; But they could be barriers to gaining more experience and producing better quality works.

The Ammar Film Festival quickly became popular. Cognition that had a main reason and that was the reason why the festival was “popular”. People at the festival watched works produced by people of their own gender. Works that, in addition to various features, raised the concerns of the people, and this issue evokes a sense of empathy of the people.

It has been 12 years since the Ammar People’s Film Festival first started its work, and many of the feature and documentary filmmakers whose works were first screened at the festival are now experienced filmmakers who have produced important works. Produced. Filmmakers who perhaps would not have had the opportunity to attend a festival like Ammar, and the art of the Islamic Revolution would have been deprived of their capacities and capabilities.

During all these years, the Ammar Media Festival was made up of people whom Iranian cinema ignored and, willingly or unwillingly, refused to represent these people, who are not few in number. The martyrs who defended the shrine, the great heroes of small villages, local stories, neglected events and happenings, etc. are just a few of the subjects and concerns that if there was no bed like the Ammar Film Festival, there might not be an opportunity to produce works about them.

Many years have passed and now the filmmakers of Ammar Festival have created important and influential works in Iranian cinema. People who once sent their first experience to the Amar Festival are now competing with various works in important foreign festivals. It seems that it is time for the Ammar Film Festival, along with its filmmakers, to break the skin and be held in a larger body; Ammar Festival is no longer a small festival, now Ammar Festival is a movement that has been influenced by Iranian cinema.
