Apple allows EU users to download apps outside of the App Store

According to Aetna from Reuters, the company on Thursday presented its plans for this purpose, according to which software developers can store their applications outside the App Store.
It should be noted that according to the new law of the European Union (known as DMA), companies with more than 45 million monthly active users and a market capital of 75 billion euros (82 billion dollars) must give users the freedom to decide which programs to pre-install. Install their devices.
This action by Apple is actually a response to EU law and to meet its requirements.
Thus, starting this March, software developers will be able to offer alternative app stores on iPhones, and as a result, be exempted from using Apple’s in-app payment system, which gives the company up to 30 percent of fees.
Apple has said that developers should still submit their apps to the company for security and fraud checks.
Of course, large app developers are still required to pay a “core technology fee” even if they don’t use any of Apple’s paid services.
However, some experts believe that Apple’s new action is not actually in the direction of implementing the DMA law.
Epic Games CEO and Fortnite creator Tim Sweeney, who is pursuing an antitrust case against Apple in the US, said on the social media platform X: “Under this plan, Apple can decide which stores are allowed to compete with the App Store. are and prevent them.
