According to IRNA, the Asian Sambo Championship was held from June 2 to 4, 2022 (June 12 to today, June 14) hosted by Beirut.
On the third day of the competition, Milad Shiri in the weight of plus 98 kg, after winning the first fight and losing the second fight, won a bronze medal by advancing to the classification game.
Mohammad Reza Saeedi Madani in the weight category minus 88 kg also took the same third place and shared the bronze medal.
The national sambo team of Iran participated in these competitions on Tuesday with the combination of Milad Shiri, Salim Mohammadi, Alireza Cheraghi, Mohammad Reza Saeedi Madani and Qasem Sadafi under the coaching of “Kamal Alikhah Azar”.
A total of 260 sambo wrestlers competed in the tournament, hosted by Beirut.
The competition was canceled in 2020 due to the Corona pandemic and hosted by Tashkent in 2021.
