Athletes came to the aid of the anti-narcotics headquarters

According to Fars news agency’s report on social harms, a cooperation memorandum was exchanged between the weightlifting federation and the anti-narcotics headquarters. In this ceremony, Sajjad Anoushirvani, Hossein Rezazadeh and Sardar Momeni, Secretary General of the Anti-Narcotics Headquarters, were present.
Iskandar Momeni, Secretary General of the Anti-Narcotics Headquarters, said in this meeting: Today is a very good day for us. Addiction knows no boundaries. He does not know race, ethnicity, religion, men and women. The important thing is that it is very difficult to treat. It involves the mind and soul. Research shows that the best way to fight addiction is to prevent it. Anyone who goes this way, the treatment is very difficult and expensive. Every year, 500,000 people in the world die due to addiction. Addiction is the source of many other harms. What lives have been destroyed by addiction. There is no option for this other than prevention.
The secretary general of the country’s anti-narcotics headquarters continued: In this way, there are leading groups that society respects, such as athletes. Their role is unmatched. We all feel proud and trust when we see an athlete on the podium. We take a breath. This makes us all proud and we try to set athletes as our example. Today our topic is weightlifting. Everyone wants to be a champion in their city and country and the world. The highest platform that an athlete tries to reach is the Olympics because it is held once every four years and all those who are champions come to these competitions. That is why the competition is tough. Thank God, one of our medal winning disciplines is weightlifting. Many countries would like to have only one Olympic medal, but weightlifting has many medals.
Momeni continued: Weightlifting is a field that makes a special mark in the world. When Hossein Rezazadeh went on the board and said while lifting weights or Abulfazl (A.S.), a society was affected. We must use this capacity. The head of the federation thanked the headquarters for stepping forward, but I must say that we thank you for entering this pit. I am happy that the dear heroes of our country want to help this great damage of the society to reduce more than before.
In the end, he said: Weightlifting has a special place in the Olympics and is called the strongest in these games. Among all the people who win gold in the Olympics, the weightlifting gold has another value. We are happy that today the weight lifting capacity came to the aid of the anti-narcotics headquarters, and for this reason we are happy and thank our friends.
Weightlifting greats can be good ambassadors for the fight against drugs
While congratulating Imam Reza (AS) on his birthday, Sajjad Anoushirvani said: Next week is the anniversary of the death of the founder of the Islamic Republic, for which I offer my condolences in advance. I thank all those who work hard for this country, especially those who work in the anti-narcotics headquarters. We must commit ourselves to take good steps for the families who have been affected. When the body is healthy, the risks of contamination become less and less. As a weightlifting federation, we want to make a big contribution to this cooperation. We have identified many people in this family and thank God we have taken good steps.
The head of the weightlifting federation continued: We are trying to develop sports in remote areas where it is needed to help young people to come to sports. It is our duty to prevent many incidents with preventive messages. We will take the training of trainers and experts of the federation in a direction that will affect the youth so that maybe not one person, even one person, will turn to drugs. Weightlifting greats can be good ambassadors so that positive steps can be taken as much as possible. I would like to thank all the friends in the anti-narcotics headquarters and be sure that the blessings of this memorandum will be full of blessings.
I hope exercise is a good help to prevent drugs
Hossein Rezazadeh, the Olympic and world champion, on the sidelines of the signing of the memorandum with the anti-narcotics headquarters, said: “Thank you.” I thank Sardar Momeni who has always been with sports. I hope that a good planning will be done in the field of (addiction) prevention from the side of sports. I hope that with the help of each loved one, good things will happen and, God willing, that weightlifting in the upcoming competitions will be able to get good results and somehow work in advancing the goals.
