Bargaining continues to determine workers’ rights / no figure was determined – Mehr news agency Iran and world’s news

According to Mehr’s reporter, the meeting of the Supreme Labor Council to determine workers’ wages is ongoing, and according to Mehr’s follow-up, the figure for the livelihood basket has not yet been determined. Although some media have announced the figure of workers’ subsistence basket around 13 million tomans, but the members of the Supreme Labor Council have not confirmed this figure either.
Some labor activists say that labor representatives should bargain for 10 million Tomans in the Supreme Labor Council. They believe that according to the inflation trend which is increasing and was announced at the end of Bahman to be close to 50%, as well as the poverty line index, which according to the report of the Ministry of Cooperation, Labor and Social Welfare two months ago was announced to be around 15 million tomans, the minimum wage for Workers and social security beneficiaries who are mostly minimum wage earners should not be set at less than 10 million tomans.
Although unofficial news mentions a minimum salary of 8 million tomans, apparently, bargaining is still going on over the livelihood basket, and this has caused the determination of the minimum salary to be postponed.
The Chairman of the Islamic Council announced today that workers’ rights are not a local issue and are related to the entire country’s workers in various industries, and it should be in such a way that the purchasing power increases and people should be able to manage their lives along with inflation.
According to the follow-ups Mehr reporter had from the Supreme Labor Council, it was said that the meeting will continue until the end of today, and the bargaining to determine the salary will probably be postponed to tomorrow.
