Fars news agency – Quran and religious activities group – Mahdi Ahmadi: This year, Basij’s 28th edition of the Holy Qur’an competition was held, but like many other cultural events, this competition was not held for two years due to the spread of the Corona virus.

This year’s competitions were held in three stages: city, province and country, where more than 20,000 people participated in the city stage, of which about 2,000 people made it to the provincial stage. The national stage of the competition was held in two stages. In the first stage, 500 winners of the provincial stage competed and 200 of them made it to the final stage of the national competition.

The national stage of the 28th national Basij Quran competitions was held while these competitions were accompanied by a new innovation this year, competitions titled family Quran competitions and group Quran competitions were held along with individual competitions.

Regarding the superiority in the first round of family Quran competition, please tell me what area of ​​Quran you were active in before participating in the competition?

Thanks to God, the Quran is flowing in our house and all the family members are engaged in Quranic activities. My wife recites the Tertil and has memorized part thirty of the Qur’an. He also has a history of participating in some competitions and tests. My eldest son Mohammad Hossein memorizes 10 chapters of the Quran and has won various positions in competitions, but my youngest son Mahdi has just started and is memorizing the final small chapters of the Quran. This year, he experienced participation in Quran competitions for the first time.

Sweet family exercises and preparation for competitions

We started preparing ourselves to participate in the competition from the time of registration, and we were ready to participate in the competition late last year, but unfortunately, the competition was held according to the previously announced schedule, which was supposed to be held in Bahman and Esfand. It didn’t happen until he contacted us in June and announced that the competitions will be held virtually and in a national stage, and the best families will get to the in-person stage. My wife had prepared the book Tafsir Noor of Surah Yusuf and we also had the electronic version of the Tafsir in our phone and we were both studying, and since I had already memorized Surah Noor, I started reviewing the verses with the translation. My eldest son had to present the letter of 31 Nahj al-Balagha. Mohammad Hossein read the letter to me and his father, but we explained each section together. After reading several times, he took notes of the most important points and prepared several summaries of the letter until he presented an article in about 5 minutes. My younger son Mahdi also had to memorize the last 5 surahs of the Quran, which he memorized and reviewed every day with the help of me and his brother.

A new idea that attracted families

How did you get to know the family Quran competitions?

When we saw the announcement of the competitions in the virtual space, the family part of the competitions attracted our attention and we thought it was a new and interesting idea that all family members experience Quranic activities together in the form of a competition. Also, part of Nahj al-Balagheh was an opportunity for us to become more familiar with the Qur’an and the words of Amir al-Mu’minin, peace be upon him. All of these things and the family’s interest in the Qur’an led to the fact that, while registering to participate in the competitions, we had a good plan to get ready to participate in the competitions. In this way, while practicing, we also spent time on questions and answers to identify and fix the problems, of course, the best way to practice is to memorize. The Qur’an is the question and answer and the presentation of reservations that our family was careful and diligent in this direction.

Tell us more about yourself and the Rezaei family as the top family of the nationwide Qur’an and Atrat Basij competitions.

I, Marzieh Karmi, the mother of the family, along with my husband Jafar Rezaei, my eldest son Mohammad Hossein Rezaei, 14 years old, and my youngest son Mehdi Rezaei, 7 years old, from Arak, participated in the Basij competitions of the family section. All the members of our family are familiar with the Quran and this familiarity with the Quran has brought many blessings to us, which is one of these blessings. The children with us are busy with the Quran along with the lesson and this blessed event has created a good atmosphere at home.

What do you think about the family part of this tournament that we saw for the first time?

I think it is a good idea for all family members to do Quranic activities together because it creates a good enthusiasm and excitement in families, for example, about our own family after the announcement of qualifying for the final stage and in attendance almost every day each family member He used to present what was related to him in the family gathering, and in this way the Geedeh family sets up a small Quran and a happy and fun atmosphere is formed in the house.

Choosing Surah Yusuf for the family competition was a good thing

In your opinion, was the appeal of the family section enough to attract families from all over the country?

Yes, due to the fact that the amount of reserves was not very high, those who were interested in memorization and familiar with the methods of memorization could prepare themselves for the competition in a short period of time. It was a good choice for studying commentary. Another item is the Nahj al-Balagha competition, the study of Nahj al-Balagha was also attractive and interesting for teenagers, especially letter 31, parts of which the children had seen in textbooks. It was also good to design competitions for younger children so that they could experience the competition together with adults, of course. The coverage of the matches was not very good, as surely many more families would have attended the matches. In my opinion, if advertisements were made from the national media or virtual channels, which are more visited, more people would definitely want to participate in the competitions.

The cure for all the pains of the society is in the Quran

Currently, there is a vacuum of Quranic discussions among families, that is, families discuss, plan and participate in many topics from economic to social and health issues, but they have less discussion and planning about the Quran. What is your opinion about this? ?

This problem affects many parts of the society, in my opinion, it is because people touch the economic and social issues and problems with their existence, but at the same time, not much cultural work is done and the Quran is less included in the context of people’s lives. Therefore, unfortunately, the Quran is not the concern of some people, and since this infinite sea of ​​mercy has not been properly introduced to the people, some people still do not believe that this Quran is the correct plan and way of life. Quran and the use of verses in life should be done so that Quran becomes an important part of people’s lives, for example, something like holding these competitions can bring more Quran into people’s daily lives. But what is important is to know that the solution to all the problems of society and families is in the Qur’an, and if people and officials seek refuge in the Qur’an, the society will be problem-free and prosperous.

The need to create a more attractive atmosphere for children in family Quran competitions

What other weaknesses did you see in this tournament that should be fixed?

As I mentioned in the answer to the previous questions, if the deficiencies are removed, the competitions can be held with higher quality and quantity. One of the important issues in these competitions is correct information. In this context, it is necessary to provide extensive information before the competitions and also to plan more precisely during the competitions. Paying attention to the requirements of holding a family competition, especially the implementation of programs that are suitable for children, can make the competition more enthusiastic. For example, creating a more attractive atmosphere in the competition environment for children and paying attention to their spirit in the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as side programs, are among my suggestions.
