Behrouz Shoaib: I like stories that focus on women / Everything about “No prior appointment”

According to Fars News Agency’s cinema correspondent, Behrouz Shoaib, an actor and director of Iranian cinema, spoke on the evening of the first Friday of February about the guest of the radio program “Open Brackets” and about his latest production called “Without a prior appointment”.

Shoaib said about the main actors of his film Pegah Ahangrani, Mostafa Zamani, Saber Abar and Elham Kurda: “Without a prior appointment” is a character-oriented film and incidentally our characters in this story are good characters in terms of drama and this is the concern I have always had, trying to It is the emergence of the ability of our good actors that we have tried to do in the film as well. Both Ms. Ahangrani and Ms. Korda have very different roles, and in fact there are two women who have different roles. Saber Abar and Mostafa Zamani are also different in my opinion, although the characters that our Mr.’s actors play in the cinema are usually so diverse in different movies and series that an example like Reza Attaran is less common that one can make very different but think I think we did our best.

Shoaib explained about the script and whether it is based on one of Mostafa Mastoor’s stories: The story of “No Appointment” started for us in April 2016. We even had a lot of different meetings with different screenwriters and professors and we talked about the story. Stories that are an introverted value and different from the current one; We have a lot of extroverted and adventurous films these years, but films that get a little more inward are easy to refuse, that is, it gets harder to pay a bit, and it takes us almost a year, except when it usually takes time. You will come up with a plan sooner, but we went to different plans and, thank God, we came across one of the stories of Master Mostafa Mastoor, and this was an interesting idea that was linked to the initial line of the idea and the theme that we had in mind.

He added: “We got permission from Mr. Mastoor and they were with us as a script consultant.” Mr. Farhad Tohidi, who was with them from the beginning, and a young writer named Mr. Mehdi Torab Beigi started writing. Regarding the characters, I have to say that I have an interest and I do not know if this unconscious interest is due to the space around us or to the cinema that I like very much, which is the cinema in which Mr. Mehrjoui has worked very seriously. That is, stories centered on women. I really like this kind of story and I think a lot of the stories that are like that and women are the main characters are still overlooked. That’s why this story is the same. Among my previous works, perhaps only “Day of the Riot” was an exception to this rule. It was a more extroverted story and a bit of a day-to-day affair.

The actor and cinema director stated: “Because I am also concerned about acting, this part is very serious for me.” Both the use of actors who are capable and part of their abilities have not been seen, and basically after that and during the payment and performance of the role, a large part of my energy is formed in relation to the actor’s colleagues. If I want to talk about acting next to this issue; We have had the practice in previous films that I always have good actors who I have a lot of respect for actors who have a theatrical background and are capable and can play characters, and here we have the same company with the main characters who are very good actors. are. Especially since most of our filming was in Mashhad and I am very happy that two or three very good and old actors from Mashhad also played in this film, including Professor Reza Saberi, with whom all Mashhadians and theater children are familiar. A set of collaborations in the cast, which is a very happy place for me right now and a source of pride.
Shoaib explained about the production process and its length: “Without a prior appointment” was a very difficult film compared to many works. Usually the films are concentrated in one city, but we filmed in Berlin, Tehran and Mashhad, and we filmed as far as Taybad, the beautiful land of Khaf and Nashtifan. As simple as it was in his script, but difficult to execute and pay for, so is the film. Insha’Allah, watch the film and it will be the same in its external appearance, but it was a film that we tried not to be visually at least incomplete and a complete film. For this reason, the whole effort of the esteemed producer Mr. Babaei and all the children was to film the same real image of Berlin and not to limit ourselves too much to the interior spaces. In fact, we see everything completely outside, and that makes it a little harder. The film was shot in two stages with one break, but it was not due to production issues. That is, most of our coordination was because we tried to make things the best they could be.
