Bloomberg: Agreement with Iran strengthens friendships in the Middle East

According to IRNA on Tuesday, Bloomberg wrote that the Middle East, which has long been known for its regional rivalries, is looking to a calmer outlook for the future.

Saudi Arabia and Qatar met in January 2021, and 10 months later the UAE foreign minister met with the Syrian president, and some high-ranking officials also visited Turkey. This trend seems to be resumed this year with the improvement of relations between Iran and the Persian Gulf countries, which could potentially be effective in reducing sectarian conflicts.

According to Bloomberg, last week an Emirati renewable energy development company signed a contract with an Iranian energy company to build gas and solar power plants in southwestern Iran. The agreement came after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan also spoke with Iran last month for “serious co-operation” in economic relations and efforts to fight terrorism.

Bloomberg added that the success of the Vienna talks and the resumption of the nuclear deal could further reduce regional hostilities. At the same time, senior EU and Russian diplomats see a good chance of rescuing the deal; An agreement in exchange for the lifting of US sanctions against Iran would also reduce Iran’s nuclear activities.

According to the report, China is also trying to play an active role in the negotiations and has asked the United States to take responsibility for its withdrawal from the agreement and make up for its mistake.

In any case, Israel continues to pursue its anti-Iranian policy, outside the scope of new developments and new ways to improve relations and strengthen friendships in the Middle East, Bloomberg wrote. Therefore, it remains to be seen whether the attitudes of Turkey and the United Arab Emirates towards Iran will affect their relations with Israel.
