According to Mehr reporter, Alireza Abdi, the head of the Literacy Movement Organization, said in a press conference titled “The First International Call for New Approaches to Literacy” that it is a great opportunity to make full use of the opportunities and interactions. Literacy and its importance have their place in different countries. From 48% at the beginning of the revolution, we reached 98% literacy.
He stated: In the continuation of this path, due to the multitude of topics and new ecosystems, we need to have a re-engineering in the path of the literacy movement. For this path, we need to use all thoughts in the field of learning. We are eager to have different steps.
Abdi added: We have considered a system to receive comments and besides receiving data, we are trying to consider these ideas. We will support the ideas that can be effective and dynamically be with them to turn their opinions into a procedure.
Abdi emphasized: “We are in communication and consultation with international organizations, the vice president’s technology department and other institutions to develop the discourse of literacy.”
Stating that the literacy movement is in one of the most special times in its life, he said: We reached 97% but we did not reach 100. Achieving 100% literacy is like reaching the top of the peak. In mountaineering, at the end of the climbing route, the route is harder and oxygen is less. Literacy was easier in the past because there were many volunteers, but today it is not possible to find and convince someone who has not yet gone to literacy.
The head of the literacy organization said: If we want to be an advanced country, we cannot forget the flow of adult literacy; Of course, literacy should not be considered as the only thing, reading and writing alone should not be enough. In the last meeting of the Supreme Literacy Council, it was insisted that we should develop literacy in the second step.
Emphasizing that we have conducted studies for the second step of the revolution in literacy, he said: According to all the documents, we are considering the popularization of literacy and in the first step of popularization, we should use the votes and ideas of the people. Besides, we have a look at the flow of literacy in the world.
Abdi emphasized: Those who want to help us in this field; We will take action in the considered system. Finally, we are concerned about basic literacy. Everyone has an idea for basic literacy education; We are ready to hear and use these ideas. Today, when we talk about education, the methods of education have expanded and education is not only literacy. Learning through play, conversation, or family is another form of learning. We welcome all teaching methods. We are interested in all methods to achieve 100% literacy education and remove all survivors from education, and we will use all ideas for adult education.
Abdi stating that in the second step we need to create new educational literacies; He said: We have thirteen new educational literacy. All these thirteen models of literacy are our favorite. We have not specified any limits.
The head of the Literacy Movement Organization pointed out: The law has set a regulatory task for the Literacy Movement in 2012, but unfortunately, the movement moved towards tenure and was hit by it.
