According to Tejarat News, today (Sunday) Reza Shiva announced the end of the second round of the council and his presence in it in a press conference and said that the composition of the Competition Council will be changed tomorrow with the presence of the Minister of Economy.
He also gave a report on the council’s performance over the past few years.
But while at the end of September and the determination of inflation, the council was to announce its opinion on the new car pricing for the fall, which was asked of Shiva, and he said: Do not ask me about this, and the price of the car has nothing to do with I do not and the new boss will decide.
He added: “Maybe the new boss wants to change this pricing model and have another plan in this regard.”
Shiva noted that the current pricing should be based on the inflation of the part announced by the central bank, which has not yet announced inflation to the Competition Council and may take until the end of October.
If they have an idea other than a lottery, let them know
He recalled the recent debate over the car pricing model or the controversy surrounding the lottery for car sales. And we had a problem with people saying that it was the influence of brokers and robots that had the most win in this way of selling, so we thought the best way was to draw, but if critics had a new way, they would offer it to be examined.
It was not our job to make the market competitive
Referring to the criticism that the car market is not competitive despite the involvement of the Competition Council, Shiva said: “This council was not one of its duties to make the market competitive, nor was it possible.” If the car market is to become competitive, it needs a platform and economic justification and investment, and this is the duty of the Development Organization and the Ministry of Silence. Therefore, if there is a competitive market, the council will leave it, and to say that investors will not come to the car market with the presence of the council is a vain claim.
The people became bad with the council
“In any case, in a country where inflation is up to 50 percent and everything is becoming more expensive, it is natural for car prices to rise. We have always tried,” Shiva said, noting that the council’s whole effort was to prevent monopolists from imposing their prices on the people. That the price should be fair on the car, but in any case, this price increase was not desirable for the people, and at times they got bad with the Competition Council.
According to him, on the other hand, the car manufacturers were not satisfied and said that this car pricing model and the result of the council’s performance has led to accumulated losses of 40 to 50 thousand billion.
Automakers have a lot of irrelevant costs
Regarding the car pricing model, Shiva added that this method has never accepted pricing based on cost, adding: “We did not accept that the monopolist would receive whatever he spent plus profit, while this would cause losses to the consumer.”
He continued: “Unfortunately, the problems of car manufacturers are many and they have a lot of unrelated investments and costs. While the car manufacturer operates only in its field, but we see so many affiliated companies that are loss-making and want to compensate the loss through the consumer.”
If this model is not pre-sold, it is better
In the continuation of this meeting, it was raised that the decision of the Competition Council on the pre-sale of cars and the emphasis on determining the price in the beginning, has caused the car manufacturers to refrain from pre-selling. Otherwise, some automakers are pre-selling in such a way that even its design may be changed, and this is not accepted for us. Automakers have many problems in pre-selling, and it is better not to do this type of pre-sale.
According to him, if the pre-sale is not done, it can be an incentive to increase the extraordinary sales and increase the supply, thus their commitment will be reduced and the extraordinary sales capacity will be more desirable.
I ask people for legitimacy
In the end, referring to the end of his presence in the council, the chairman of the Competition Council said that all our efforts were made so that the people would not be harmed, but in any case, it could not lead to their satisfaction.
