Jalal Maleki, the spokesman of the Tehran Municipality Fire Department, said in an interview with Fars News Agency: At 2:44 PM tonight, a case of a severe explosion in a building in the Qala-e-Marghi neighborhood, Zamzam Street, was reported to the 25th system of the fire department.
He added: “Immediately after the call, three fire stations were dispatched to the scene and the first station arrived in three minutes.”
A spokesman for the Tehran Fire Department said: “This incident took place in a property of about 2 meters and two floors. The first floor of this building was a place for charging and storing cylinders, which suffered a leak and explosion.”
Maleki continued: a sudden explosion occurred in this place and caused the destruction of the ground floor, part of the second floor and the adjacent shop was completely destroyed.
A spokesman for the Tehran Fire Department said: “Unfortunately, two people who were buried under a large volume of bricks and dirt were pulled out from under the rubble and it turned out that both people had lost their lives.”
