Character counting feature was added to Windows Notepad

Although this feature seems simple, it was not present in the mentioned program since its launch. The “Notepad” character count feature is provided in the latest test version of the Canary channel in Windows 11, and thus adds the character count display to the lower left corner of the “Notepad” window. This action imitates the features of text editing tools such as Microsoft Word and is considered a suitable method for monitoring the length of the text.

According to Aetna’s Mehr report, by default, the mentioned feature displays the total number of characters in the entire text, but if the user selects a particular line, the tool shows the total number of characters in the selected section. Windows Notepad’s character count feature is perfect for users who deal with any text content.

The character count feature is one of several improvements that Microsoft has made to Notepad this year. This company has recently added the option of “automatic saving” that automatically saves the user’s text at regular intervals, and in this way, the worry of losing the changes made is also removed.

 

In addition, options for managing multiple texts and dark mode for use at night have also been added to the tool.

In addition to these items, Windows 11 has also received several updates.
