Yousef Nouri, the Minister of Education, gave a report on the state of literacy in the country based on information from the Statistics Center in terms of illiteracy, neo-literacy and literacy, the gap between urban and rural literacy and its decrease from 34% at the beginning of the revolution to 11% last year. The difference between the literacy rate of men and women was from 23% at the beginning of the Islamic Revolution to 6% last year.

It was decided in this meeting; The credits of the literacy program can be seen in the second round of the government’s provincial trips.
It was also emphasized that the Literacy Movement Organization should pay attention to skill training along with literacy in the new environment of the Literacy Movement in the country by employing retirees, students, benefactors and volunteers in the field of teaching.
Based on the approvals of this meeting; All agencies and ministries were required to provide their database to the literacy movement and in addition to requiring the target governors to hold Supreme Council meetings, the maximum allocation of funds for the literacy movement organization was included in the 1402 budget and also in the 7th plan to develop the plans of this organization with emphasis Eradication of illiteracy in the country will be included.
