He stated that during the past two years, children were quarantined at home, and by following health tips, a large number of children did not get respiratory diseases, and explained: With the presence of children outside the house and non-observance of health protocols, we are witnessing an increase in cases of influenza. In schools, due to the presence of students in class, the spread of disease has increased, and today we have seen that children’s hospitals in Tehran are full of children with influenza.

Emadi stated that everyone who has a respiratory infection today does not mean influenza and said: Today we are witnessing the spread of respiratory diseases in children, and the spread of influenza in adults may also increase in the coming days.

This infectious disease expert stated that today the corona virus has become a mild disease and said: this virus may mutate, but it should be noted that the influenza disease, like the corona virus, can occur in people with underlying diseases, pregnant mothers, people with diabetes, and people who have transplants. People over 50 years of age and people under three years of age whose immune system is weak may develop severe cases.

He continued: By closing the schools, the epidemic is a bit later and delayed, but the disease is not controlled. The main reason for closing the schools is usually compliance with health protocols and postponing the disease, and it does not mean that the influenza is controlled.

In the end, the expert of infectious and tropical diseases advised pregnant women, medical staff and people with underlying diseases to inject influenza vaccine. Keep in mind that vaccinations are given free of charge to healthcare workers.
