China has accused several technology companies of incorrectly collecting user data

In an action that targets several popular mobile apps, China Cyberspace Authority (CAC), Has introduced several companies for participating in the collection and unauthorized use of personal data of users of these applications. Some of the popular apps mentioned included Microsoft Bing, LinkedIn, Tic Tac, Kuaishou and Kugou.

In a statement on WeChat official account CAC The regulator said it had received complaints from users prompting it to launch an investigation into the data collection activities of several applications. The CAC noted that after the investigation, 105 applications violated existing privacy laws by collecting overly personal information through illegal access. According to the CAC statement, the owners of 105 applications are required to correct the observed violations within 15 days.

CAC He says he will continue to regularly review mobile apps for possible breaches. The CAC approach is the next step in new regulations that provide closer monitoring and control for the general safety of the public. The principle of the new rules is that application providers are responsible for collecting user data that is too unrelated to the app’s core services and forcing users to unknowingly consent to how their data is used. These regulations cover a wide range of mobile applications with different titles.

China continues to strengthen its rules and regulations to respond to the evolving technology environment. Some big brands, such as Alibaba and Tencent, have been heavily fined for violating antitrust laws and regulations.
