China regrets new US sanctions on Xinjiang companies

“This is not the first time that the US government has intervened in the Chinese economy under false pretenses, including national security or human rights abuses, and in the case of goods,” a spokesman for China’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry told IRNA on Saturday, Xinhua reported. “Xinjiang imposes sanctions to control our exports and investment.”
He went on to strongly criticize the United States, urging it to immediately stop doing so.
Last week, the US government imposed new sanctions on China for violating the rights of workers and minorities in the country.
The US Treasury Department also blacklisted the largest drone factory, DJJI, and seven other Chinese companies. That way, Americans will no longer be able to trade with these companies.
Xinjiang is a region rich in mineral resources, which is important for its agricultural products and factories.
China has also stated that it will retaliate against the United States in order to protect its national sovereignty over the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies.
