Cinematographers strongly criticize the performance of the Art Credit Fund

According to Fars News Agency, quoting Cinema Press, regarding the removal of the Art Credit Fund services for a group of filmmakers and the news of the suspension of some members of the Cinema House, cinema activists strongly criticized the decision of the Art Credit Fund and the inaction of cinema directors. And the cinema organization remarked against this oppression: Why do not you listen to the voice of the people of the cinema and do not clarify the task of the royal family of the cinema house? In each guild, the higher the reputation and history of the people, the higher their wages, respect and status, but here, as we get older, our problems increase; This group of filmmakers emphasized: the title of the credit fund for supporting artists is not consistent with its performance, because by deciding to remove some members of this institution, it has officially revealed its lack of support for artists!

While filmmakers have been in a very poor financial and livelihood situation for many years, in addition to the prevailing gangsterism in cinema, which has caused absolute unemployment for many filmmakers, the Corona crisis and low production of films have also led to unemployment, poverty, despair and Housekeeping has taken a toll on most filmmakers.

Cinema Press in an interview with ten activists in the field of cinema Elimination of Art Credit Fund services for some filmmakers And the news of the suspension of the membership of a large number of members of the Cinema House has addressed the issue, which is summarized below.

In this regard, Hassan Rastgoo, the designer of special effects, said: The title of the Credit Fund for the Support of Artists is not consistent with his performance, because by deciding to remove some members of this institution, he has officially revealed his lack of support for artists; I really do not know what policy the Art Credit Fund works on and why it decided to do so, and in this crisis of Corona and unemployment, a large part of the cinematographers have bled their hearts and their families even more! On Eid night, they poured Eid for some people and harvested it at the same time! Why did this happen? The Art Credit Fund should be transparent about these issues. Why do they receive funding in the name of supporting artists and treating artists this way? Where does this returned money go? What is the law and standard of this institution? These are the questions that the fund’s managers must answer.

Veteran cinema sound engineer Hassan Zahedi has said in this regard: Removing any member from the art credit fund is a clear example of injustice and immorality! In this corona crisis and the hard days of unemployment and homelessness of cinematographers and in this miserable economic situation, instead of having the air of all your members, do you want to eliminate those who have not been able to work for several years? Do you think art has a history of consumption?

Veteran film and television actress Parvaneh Masoumi also strongly criticized these decisions of the people of Sa’a, saying: “Unwise decisions such as suspending the membership of artists cause the notoriety of managers; Artists who never had anything and were not helped, now this new indifference and disrespect to all their previous problems !; I am really sorry for this situation! The bitter thing that has bothered us so much these days is that the officials of the Art Credit Fund have set a date and time for the artist to address the artists! With what wisdom, thought and thought do they determine the date and time for artists to be known as artists? For example, an artist who writes a book is no longer an artist if he does not write for 10 years? Does art have time? Why do they set a date at all? Let those who consider themselves the custodians of art come and explain to us what art is in their opinion?

Regarding the removal of the Art Credit Fund services for some filmmakers and the news of the suspension of a large number of members of the Cinema House, cinema composer Arya Azimi Nejad said: “If we take a look at the history of cinema in our country, we will find that artists in our country Have a highly unstable and uncertain position; It has even been seen that the actors who are in front of the camera and are very popular with the people, were in financial difficulties at the end of their lives and were in dire straits, and while renting, they could not afford their living expenses! Meanwhile, the situation of those who worked behind the scenes has been and is much more dangerous and worse. I hope that the issue of refining the members will be postponed and at the same time the rights of no one will be lost, especially those who have eaten the soil of cinema for years. Undoubtedly, these minimal contributions, such as insurance, should be given to all artists equally, and all artists should be able to live in these critical days with a little peace of mind.

Cinema screenwriter Peyman Abbasi strongly criticized this decision, saying: The worst job in Iran is to be a filmmaker; We have a really bad job! In each guild, the higher the reputation and history of individuals, the higher their wages, respect and status, but in Iran, the older we get, the more likely we are to be miserable; The escalation of atrocities by the institutions that were supposed to support the cinematographers has wounded our souls and I hope that there will be a cry for help in this cunning market and that it will pay attention to us helpless people! Cultural and cinema directors, those involved in the cinema house and the art credit fund, etc., instead of taking measures to solve the financial and livelihood crisis of the unlucky cinematographers, have now threatened to brutally prune unemployed members by sending a text message!

Nahid Alami, the inspector of the Iranian Cinema Face Painters Association, clarified: Mr. Khazaei, why do not you hear the screams of the cinema people and do not clarify the duties of the emperors of the cinema house? Mr. Khazaei, we hoped for your presence in the cinema, and we thought that you would clarify with the power of duty of this anti-union organization, which most cinematographers, including me, wish to close, but not only did you not do this, but you also did not hear our cries for help! Alas, the directors of the cinema organization only promise and leave them alone instead of making a mess of the unfortunate life of the filmmakers.

Muharram Barati, the secretary of the Iranian Cinema Broadcasters Association, said in an interview with Cinema Press: “It is unfortunate that institutions, instead of supporting the weak and vulnerable sections of cinema, turn their attention only to celebrities and prominent figures;” The Art Credit Fund officially turns its attention to prominent figures and celebrities and earns credit for their names, and if it does not pay attention to the weaknesses of cinema, it is because they think that no one hears the voices of the weak. Their presence or absence in the cinema is insignificant!
