Conviction of 2 people for selling nuclear secrets of the US Army

According to IRNA’s report on the 5th day from AFP news agency; Jonathan Toebe, 44, and his wife Diana Toebe, 46, pleaded guilty in February to trying to sell information about nuclear propulsion systems on Navy vessels.

According to court documents, Toebe delivered top-secret information about nuclear submarine technology to an alien client with the help of his wife on several occasions around their home in Maryland.

Although the American authorities have not identified the foreign buyer, the New York Times, citing people familiar with the investigation, identified that country as Brazil.

Jonathan Toebe was a Navy nuclear engineer specializing in submarine nuclear propulsion systems when he was arrested in West Virginia in October 2021 for delivering an SD card containing classified US documents.

These people have been paid in crypto to covertly deliver classified information, such as spy stories, hundreds of kilometers of travel, and signs of a foreign embassy building in Washington.

Toebeh had written in a message that he divided his information into 51 packages and requested $100,000 for the delivery of each one.

In December 2020, nearly 9 months after Toebeh’s email was sent to the military intelligence organization of the target country, the FBI became aware of this conspiracy and followed it up after receiving a warning from that country.
