According to Mehr News Agency, during the one-day visit of the Foreign Ministry delegation headed by Sohrabi, Special Assistant to the Minister of Foreign Affairs to Qeshm Island, and in a meeting with Fathollahi, Director General of Qeshm Free Zone Organization, the ways of cooperation between this ministry and Qeshm Free Zone Organization were discussed. During the meeting, which was also attended by the new head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Qeshm, Sohrabi, while introducing Zamani as the new head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stressed the need for closer cooperation between the ministry and the Qeshm Free Zone.
Referring to the history of the establishment of Foreign Ministry offices in the provinces and free zones, he noted the new approach of these offices to pay special attention to the development of economic relations, especially with neighbors, and the Qatar World Cup as an opportunity to expand tourism and economic relations with neighboring countries.
In this meeting, which was held at the headquarters of the Qeshm Free Zone Organization, Fathollahi, the director general of the organization, also stressed the importance of the role and position of the Foreign Ministry office and the organization’s readiness to expand cooperation as much as possible.
Following the meeting, which was also attended by the elders in charge of the Foreign Ministry’s representative offices in the provinces, the new head of the Qeshm delegation once explained the plans and programs of the office regarding the World Cup and in line with the plans of the Qatar World Cup’s headquarters. Qeshm Free Zone Organization emphasized.
In this meeting, it was decided to hold working meetings with the focus on the World Cup at the first opportunity and with the presence of the officials of the Football Federation and the heads of the Qeshm and Kish Free Zones.
It is worth mentioning that during the visit of the Foreign Ministry delegation to Qeshm and in separate meetings with the Shiite and Sunni Friday Imams of this island, as well as the representative of Al-Mustafa Society, the duties and powers of the Foreign Ministry office and the Minister’s emphasis on strengthening these offices were explained.
