Criticism of the indecisiveness of renewing worn-out taxis in the country/Stable income of municipalities by issuing city bill of lading

According to the Shahri reporter of Fars News Agency, Marzieh Hesari, Director General of the Transportation Office of the Organization of Municipalities and Rural Affairs of the Ministry of Interior, stated to the journalists on the sidelines of the ceremony of the 39th Assembly of Tehran Taxi Association and the second assembly of the Association of Transportation and Load Management Organizations of Municipalities of the country. : It is necessary to modernize taxis by providing facilities and assistance from the Ministry of Security to provide new taxis to drivers. This issue has been undecided for a long time and it is not known how many cars will be offered at what price.

He added: This happened while the fleet of taxis in different cities is worn out and is over 10 years old, so the Ministry of Security must seriously intervene in this field and the share of taxis in the car production portfolio must be determined.

The Director General of the Transportation Office of the Organization of Municipalities stated: According to the Clean Air Law, the renovation of taxis in the country should be done with priority, and unfortunately, the condition of cars, both private and public, is not favorable and the scrapping of worn out cars has decreased.

He emphasized: In addition to car production, its price should also be determined and low-interest facilities for van and taxi drivers and free facilities for providing buses should be considered.

He also referred to the Law on Sustainable Income of Municipalities and said: Based on this, the issue of municipal bill of lading has become legal, and while municipalities are seriously involved in the field of cargo management, its security will also be ensured, and municipalities will have income in the field of cargo transportation. Of course, all sources of income are supposed to be included in this direction for the modernization of the public transport fleet.
