Mohammad Aghamiri, a member of the Tehran Islamic Council, in an interview with Fars Social Reporter, mentioned the current year’s budget of Tehran Municipality and said: “In this year’s budget, a good number has been considered for public transportation.”
He mentioned the issue of buying buses, overhauling the public transportation system and reconstruction and said: We have signed a contract for 2,000 buses with two domestic companies and these 2,000 buses are supposed to be delivered by the end of the year.
According to Aghamiri, from the end of this summer, the buses will be delivered step by step.
The member of the Islamic Council of Tehran, emphasizing that the prices have been determined and paid in advance, said: These 2,000 buses are purchased from the domestic sector.
According to Aghamiri, about 6,000 buses are supposed to enter the public transportation system in a period of 3 years, so that citizens can travel easily in Tehran.
