Destruction of wildlife drinking fountains and damage to one of the environmental protection posts in the Firouzkoh flood


According to Fars news agency, Alireza Mezinani, head of the General Department of Environmental Protection of Tehran province, said: The flood of August this year in Firouzkoh city destroyed a number of wildlife waterholes and damaged one of the environmental protection posts of this city.

He added: Considering the hot days of the year and the fact that the need to provide water for the wildlife of the region was felt, the issue of restoring damaged watercourses and reviving new watercourses was immediately put on the agenda, and the technical damages to some watercourses were fixed as much as possible. .

The head of the General Department of Environmental Protection of Tehran Province stated that due to the amount of mud that was moved, some of the facilities and equipment of the wildlife drinking fountains have been buried in the meantime and have practically lost their effectiveness. The new drinking fountains have been completed and their construction will begin soon.

Mezinani also stated that fortunately there were no casualties in the area’s wildlife during this flood, he said: This flood also caused damage to the water supply facilities and the building of the Vashi Gorge Environmental Outpost, which is being followed up.

He pointed out that when many natural disasters occur, the Environmental Protection Organization’s rangers are considered the first observers and natural sensors due to their presence in the regions, and for this reason, the need for more support is felt, he stated: Of course In the devastating flood of Firouzkoh, the role of environmentalists in providing relief and voluntary and initial presence was evident, and in this regard, efforts were made to provide field assistance to the affected people wherever possible.
