Education should be the reason for students to drop out of school – Mehr News Agency | Iran and world’s news



According to Mehr News Agency, Asghar Jahangir, in a meeting to develop cooperation between the Ministry of Education and the Deputy Minister of Social Affairs and Crime Prevention of the Judiciary, which was held in the presence of the Minister of Education in Shahid Rajaei building, said: The growth of Islamic values ​​in society, especially in schools.

The Deputy Minister of Social Affairs and Crime Prevention of the Judiciary, stating that increasing the education of individuals in society leads to a reduction in crime and misconduct, said: The higher the level of education, the lower the crime rate and this shows the effective role of education in reducing crime.

Referring to the alarming increase in social harms, he said: “Dropping out of school, especially in deprived areas, is one of the grounds for increasing social harms, so identifying school dropouts and returning them to school is one of the demands of the judiciary.”

The Deputy Minister of Social Affairs and Crime Prevention of the Judiciary stated: “Monitoring the causes of students dropping out of school is a very important issue that education should pursue.”

Referring to the increasing use of narcotics, he said: “More than three thousand types of industrial narcotics are available to the community.”

Jahangir, referring to other factors that are effective in increasing social harms, said: Class distance in society creates the ground for violence and other social harms among students; Cyberspace has also become one of the areas of occurrence and increase of social harms and most countries of the world manage cyberspace and while we have a population of 85 million people, but more than 130 million mobile phone lines are active.

“Internet penetration is even higher than the global average in rural schools, but there is no training on how to use the Internet,” he said, referring to good internet access.

Jahangir added: “The damage caused by cyberspace is more in the villages and this is a sign of weakness in how to use cyberspace.”

He continued: “Providing social skills in schools should be done with the aim of increasing life expectancy, so originality is with education and not higher education, so the education system can provide the necessary skills at different ages of childhood and adolescence.”

The Deputy Minister of Social Affairs and Crime Prevention of the Judiciary stated in the end: with the cooperation of the two agencies in the form of a memorandum, the issue of school dropouts should be addressed.
