Emotional comment about girls’ marriage is not the opinion of the whole parliament – Mehr News Agency | Iran and world’s news

According to the Mehr correspondent, Fatemeh Ghasempour stated in a public session of the Islamic Consultative Assembly today (Sunday, June 20) during an oral remark: The 11th Assembly has approved the Law on Youth, Population and Family Protection, which requires deputies to monitor its proper implementation.

He added: “On behalf of my colleagues, I must say that we all believe that the path of women’s marriage should be facilitated, but this should not be done in any way or by non-expert solutions.”

The head of the women’s faction of the Islamic Consultative Assembly stated: “Expressing unprofessional and emotional comments about the marriage of girls is not the opinion of the Assembly as a whole, and solutions based on the dignity of women should be proposed.”

Qasempour noted: “The parliament has put the law on family protection and youth of the population, as well as the amendment of the law on facilitating marriage on its agenda, and we followed these approvals by attracting the opinion of the elites.” I reiterate that the statements that unite the society are not in the dignity of the parliament and we consider it obligatory to preserve the dignity of women and girls.

In response to this remark, Abdel Reza Masri, who chaired the meeting, said: “The inherent duty of the parliament is to defend and protect the parliament’s resolutions, and the rule of law must be observed.”

He said: “Deputies may comment on various issues, but it is only the law that must be implemented and it is important.”
