Energy is the most important axis of development and development opportunity of the country / industry development and optimization of energy consumption 2 important priorities of the Ministry of Energy

According to Fars News Agency information base Ministry of Energy (Pawn), Minister of Energy Ali Akbar Mehrabian on Friday at the opening ceremony of the 21st International Exhibition of Iran’s Electricity Industry, which was held at the Tehran International Exhibition Center, stating that the country’s proud electricity industry is one of the most important indicators of our dear homeland , Said: The exhibition is a place to present the latest achievements and a set of methods for people to know the progress of this industry, and in another version, it is a place for exchange of views and consensus for the future development of this industry.
He added: “We are witnessing an unparalleled welcome from the country’s electricity industry in the 21st exhibition complex.” Although we witnessed a severe recession in the country’s industry for some time due to the prevailing conditions in the country and the spread of this infamous virus, the electricity industry seized the opportunity at the first opportunity and without interruption and actively participated in this period of exhibitions.
The Minister of Energy pointed out: In the periods when I was honored to cooperate with the country’s industries, among the dozens of generating syndicates, the most regular, active and well-planned industrial syndicate was the country’s electricity industry syndicate. .
Al-Mehrabian stated that energy is the most important axis of development and development opportunity of the country, adding: “We have large oil and gas reserves and we know that one of the best ways to use energy is to generate electricity for consumption.”
He added: “In the matter of energy, a very important point is that we seek to convert energy into electricity, we seek growth, added value and employment; In other words, with this opportunity that is given to the country, we must know how we can use this huge and national capital for the welfare of society and the growth of the country.
The Minister of Energy reminded: During the past years, especially in the first decade of the revolution, the country’s total electricity generation capacity was less than 7,000 MW, while about four decades after the Islamic Revolution, today the total electricity generation capacity of more than 83,000 MW of power plants In the country.
He added: “This installed capacity includes thermal, hydropower, renewable and nuclear power plants that are operating well in the country, but the consumption that the demand side expects from us is much more than the installed capacity in the country.”
Referring to the problems created in the summer for the electricity industry, Mehrabian said: “In the past summer, due to the low growth of the electricity industry that has occurred in the past few years, we saw a shortage of about 15,000 megawatts of electricity, which is either limited.” Production was applied to the country’s industries or in the form of blackouts for domestic consumption, which can be said that the country’s electricity industry went through a bitter summer.
He considered the growth of electricity consumption as the growth of the economy and continued: “When we limit the country’s basket due to the lack of electricity production, it means that we reduce the capacity for employment, exports and the possibility of growth.”
The Minister of Energy added: “One opportunity after another, small and large, has been created in the country’s industry and the markets that have been created inside and outside due to the lack of electricity production.”
Mehrabian added: “The issue that is important for the electricity industry right now is how to get out of this situation.” The program that the Ministry of Energy has developed today, following coordination with the Islamic Consultative Assembly and the government, includes two branches: industry development and optimization of energy consumption, and reform of the supply and consumption sector of the electricity industry.
“We have to make up for the backlog of the past few years,” he said. At present, we have no choice but to use all the capacities and potentials of the country, including the private sector, to witness the growth of industry.
Referring to the development plan of the Ministry of Energy, the Minister of Energy continued: “The plan formulated on the development of the electricity industry in the field of creating combined cycle power plants, completing thermal power plants and paying attention to renewable energy is one of the important axes in the industry for the country.”
According to Mehrabian, in the issue of supply and demand management, we should seek to optimize energy consumption by policy-making and using the existing capacities in the country.
He continued: “Optimization in our opinion will be the maximum consumption in the production sector and reasonable consumption in the home sector.” Maximum consumption in the industrial sector means considering the intensity of energy and standardizing energy consumption in this area.
