Entrepreneurship in the field of tourism is a window to create job opportunities in the country



The first national conference on “Social Entrepreneurship with a Tourism Approach” was held at the Faculty of Entrepreneurship, University of Tehran, with the participation of a group of professors, students and activists in the field of entrepreneurship, IRNA reported on Wednesday. Seyed Mohammad Moghimi, President of the University of Tehran, stated at the conference: “Foreign exchange earnings for tourism in the country are very limited, and despite the good fields that exist in the field of tourism in our country, but this capacity is not used well.”

He considered the issues related to tourism from the perspective of social, cultural, political and economic fields and emphasized: if we look at tourism with an entrepreneurial approach, we can revive the neglected capacities of this field. Looking at tourism from the perspective of entrepreneurship can be effective for employment and development of job opportunities in the country.

Moghimi stated that the Faculty of Entrepreneurship of the University of Tehran is in charge of scientific leadership in the field of entrepreneurship in the country, reminded: The Faculty of Tourism, which was recently established at the University of Tehran, can complement the Faculty of Entrepreneurship in the field of tourism.

Professor of the Faculty of Management, University of Tehran, expressing hope that a large part of the country’s employment will be achieved through entrepreneurship through tourism, added: “Good entrepreneurial activities in the field of tourism have been formed and some people have been able to develop tourism activities even in deprived and remote areas And apply for the attractions of their local tourism area.

Asked how we can develop tourism with a view to social entrepreneurship, he said: “For this purpose, it is necessary to consider the development of social capital from an entrepreneurial perspective;” However, economic development is also achieved from this perspective.

Moghimi further referred to tourism in terms of foreign exchange income for the country, local income generation and social development in villages and cities and the prosperity of related industries, including transportation and housing, and said: “Entrepreneurship as a driving force for development can be the tourism field.” Close to its desired point.

The President of the University of Tehran expressed the hope that as a result of the growth of tourism in the country, the level of welfare and livelihood and income generation of people at different levels of society will improve.

Jahangir Yadalahi, Dean of the Faculty of Entrepreneurship, University of Tehran Referring to the importance of social entrepreneurship in this national conference, he said: “The purpose of social entrepreneurship is not only financial profit but also solving social problems as its main goal.”

Referring to Iran’s climatic and ethnic diversity, he stressed: “As much as Iran, there is a capacity to create tourism entrepreneurship and we must use this capacity to create jobs and alleviate poverty in different regions.”

Yadalahi considered tourism as the best tool for solving social problems and effective entrepreneurial activity in the country, which requires attention to tourism, and added: “The various effects of different areas of tourism in the country have been neglected;” While this diversity can be a source for solving the problems of local communities in the country. To this end, the social entrepreneurship initiative must start at the university.

Ebrahim Bai Salami, Scientific Secretary of this conference Referring to the importance of tourism entrepreneurship, he said: “Entrepreneurship in the field of tourism is a school that pays attention to all human, environmental and moral dimensions and uses new tools and technologies in this regard.”

The scientific secretary of the first conference of the National Conference on Social Entrepreneurship with a tourism approach, added: “In addition to educating students, the university also has a social mission that should create dialogue for the development of the country and provide the necessary advice to decision makers and policy makers.”

He described tourism as the best way to achieve social entrepreneurship and expressed hope that with science and knowledge, poverty and unemployment could be eradicated. According to Salami, more than 50 articles have been accepted at the conference, which will be published in prestigious journals indexed in the Islamic World Science Citation Database.

Salami also announced the establishment of a permanent secretariat for the Social Entrepreneurship Conference with a tourism approach at the Faculty of Entrepreneurship, University of Tehran, and expressed hope that the first international conference with the same title would be held in 1401 with international experience and the presence of local and foreign experts.

Another speaker at the conference was Dr. Ali Asghar Shalbafian, Deputy Minister of Tourism of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism, who spoke about the importance of entrepreneurship in tourism and stressed the importance of tourism and entrepreneurship in poverty alleviation, social participation and empowerment. He considered it necessary to pay attention to the history of tourism in order to map the tourism route.
