With the creation of the above four industrial zones, over 159 hectares of land will be added to the towns and industrial areas of the country so that the provincial companies affiliated to the Small Industries Organization and the Industrial Towns of Iran can attract investors and, consequently, create sustainable jobs. It is worth mentioning that since the beginning of this year, the creation or development of 38 new towns and industrial zones in 21 provinces of the country with an area of more than 50,800 hectares has been approved by the Board of Directors of the Small Industries and Industrial Towns Organization of Iran. According to the rules and regulations, the decision of the Board of Directors of the Small Industries and Industrial Towns Organization of Iran for towns and industrial areas over 50 hectares must be approved by the General Assembly of the Organization consisting of Ministers of Industry, Mines and Trade, Agricultural Jihad, Roads and Urban Development, Energy, Affairs Economy and Finance, the Vice President and the Head of the State Planning and Budget Organization, and then with the review and approval of the Commission for Infrastructure, Industry and Environment of the Cabinet Office, to be approved by the Cabinet.
Also, according to the provisions of the Law on Support for the Establishment of Rural Industrial Areas, approved by the Board of Directors of the Small Industries and Industrial Towns Organization of Iran as the General Assembly of Provincial Companies, the necessary condition for approval of new industrial areas with less than 50 hectares and final approval is conditional. To be approved and approved by the Provincial Planning and Development Council.
According to the legal rules and regulations and the provisions of paragraph (8) of the Law on the Establishment of Iran Industrial Parks Company, the General Assembly of the Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization of Iran is obliged to increase the number of industrial estates according to the policies of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Organization of Small Industries and Industrial Towns of Iran and its provincial subsidiaries now have 506 towns and 326 industrial zones and three special economic zones in operation, 81 towns and specialized industrial zones, 7 technology towns, 38 technology and business service centers, 2 information technology and software services complexes, 95,415 contracts concluded and operation of 48,119 industrial units and 3,150 workshop units, have provided the field of direct employment of 961,174 people throughout the country.
