Fajr 41 colorful tablecloth for different tastes/variety in themes and climates

According to the report of Fars News Agency from the General Department of Public Relations of the Cinema Organization, with the films arriving at the Fajr International Film Festival this year and despite the bumps and problems ahead, we are witnessing that the diversity and multiplicity of themes and topics is the turning point and distinction of this festival from the eras. It is previous. This year’s Fajr Film Festival will spread a colorful table in front of the audience, which has rarely been seen in previous years. We have asked the opinions of those involved, critics and cinema experts in this regard.
* The extent of cinema audience community
In this regard, Ebrahim Asghari, the producer of the films Sniper and Number 10, said: In spite of the atmosphere and rumors that this year’s festival will face a shortage of films and many artists will not attend the festival and will not present their works, it must be said, despite Due to the difficult conditions of film production this year, so far we have seen a large number of films submitted to this year’s festival.
He added: Based on what we heard from the friends involved in the festival and the news we received from the media, a variety of good themes with different genres can be seen in this festival, such as a large number of holy defense films, which is unprecedented compared to previous years, and films with strategic themes. There are social films, children and teenagers, and animation, as well as films that don’t only depict the concerns of the residents of the capital city and the north of Tehran, but instead deal with the social issues of other cities and different spaces, there has been a significant increase.
Asghari went on to clarify: Going to themes and subjects that have received less attention and need to be addressed more, especially in the field of sacred defense and social fields, always has difficulties, and making apartment films is easier in terms of implementation than It is built outside of Tehran on the road and in the desert. However, this year we see that many experienced and even young filmmakers have turned to making such films, and this event promises a good, diverse and fruitful festival.
The producer of movie number ten further added: This year due to economic problems, government and even private sectors were facing many problems to make movies and entered this field with concern. However, we see that the films were made in a short time and reached the festival, which I think this marathon in the last days gives a special attraction to this year’s festival; Something that we saw before in the 70s and was not heard of for years.
Stating that the variety of themes and the multitude of subjects of the films is one of the positive effects of this festival, Asghari said: Of course, these works must be seen in order to be able to judge them qualitatively, but what we are witnessing quantitatively is the variety and multitude of mature films. It’s this year’s Fajr Film Festival and we hope to have a good and defensible festival this year.
He also said that the variety of movie topics is caused by the policies of the Cinema Organization in the past year and emphasized that the policies of this organization have an impact on most of the productions of Iranian cinema, both those produced directly by the government departments and those of the private sector. The role of this organization, whether as a policy maker in licensing and supervision, in financial support, etc., is undeniable, but the other part of the story goes back to the artists who understand the current conditions of the country and go towards issues that have been neglected in this decade. The cinema and the audience have neglected these issues. In addition, the groundwork for this is due to the government policies that created the ground for artists to work on these works under these conditions.
Regarding the impact of this variety on the diversity and multiplicity of cinema audiences, Asghari also said that one of our major problems in the past decade or two was that cinema has lost many audiences. Maybe because every year cinema used the tastes and desires of a limited number of two to three million people as criteria. For many years, we did not have other works that would engage a larger part of the audience and address their concerns, so many audiences have moved away from cinema in these years. Anyway, we hope that the diversity of these works and the bold treatment of the issues can bring back some of the audience who were so-called angry with cinema.
While hoping that cinema will be more popular and prosperous in the future, he continued: Of course, in order to achieve this, it is not possible to achieve results with a few works in a short time, but in the medium term, this trend will definitely have an impact. Besides, the economic and social conditions governing the society should be such that every audience is ready and able to follow these works.
*The attention of the cinematographic organization to all cultural areas of the country
Ali Moqtadar, a cinema expert, also explained that the major task of the cinema organization is to plan for the variety of themes and the extensive use of the country’s geography in the films of this year’s festival, and stated: In the past years, the cinema authorities of the time talked a lot about the importance of diversity and abundance of films in the fields different and different climatic context and attention was given to local and regional cultures and folklore, but practically nothing special happened in this field and every year we saw works in the festival where geography was at the center.
One of the features of the 42nd Fajr Festival is the attention and focus on different cultures of Iran. It is very important for movie directors to go beyond their words, take risks and actually go towards the words and slogans they have said. In my opinion, Mr. Khazaei, the head of the cinema organization, has acted differently from the previous directors of the cinema in this field and has a good track record in this field.
Referring to the characteristics of films that have ethnic and religious subcultures, Moqtadar said: These films can attract a wide range of local and regional audiences. In the past, several films with the same specifications have been released and by the way, they have been well received by the audience. Of course, you have to think of a plan and prepare the taste of watching movies in the cinema and more importantly the infrastructure of the cinema for the use of the public in different regions of the country.
