A WhatsApp spokesperson said: “In order to keep up with the latest technological developments, we typically do not support older operating systems in order to dedicate our resources to support the latest.”
“If we stop supporting your operating system, you will be notified several times and reminded to upgrade your device to continue using WhatsApp,” he added.
The list of phones includes iPhone, Samsung, Huawei, etc.
Important phones in this long list include iPhone 5, iPhone 5S, Huawei Honor Mate, Huawei Honor P1, LG L7, Samsung Galaxy Core, Galaxy S3 Mini and Sony Xperia Arc S.
