Foreign Policy: Russia has to end the war by June

According to IRNA, the American publication “Foreign Policy” wrote in an article entitled “The West finally unveiled its great weapons for Ukraine”: “Despite this unveiling, some Ukrainians believe that it is too late and little action has been taken.”
The United States and its NATO allies have accelerated the delivery of tanks, helicopters and heavy weapons to Ukraine as its forces prepare to fight Russian forces in the east.
The delivery of new weapons marks a major shift in Western support for Ukraine as Western governments, at the start of Russia’s special operations, were unsure that Kiev would be able to withstand Russian aggression and feared that the weapons would be seized. Come to Moscow.
Also, the type of weapon has changed from defensive weapons such as anti-tank weapons to offensive weapons. The Czech Republic was the first NATO member to open the door to a flood of weapons to Ukraine by sending tanks, artillery systems and armored vehicles earlier this month.
Slovakia has provided Ukraine with the S-300 missile defense system, and the United States announced on Wednesday that it would provide a new $ 800 million arms package to Ukraine.
What encouraged Western governments to send weapons to Kiev was the resistance of the Ukrainian people and the weakness of Russian forces in countering them.
NATO military commanders believe that sending heavy weapons to Ukraine alone is not enough, and that the use of these weapons requires training, technical support and ammunition, and that is why the sending of weapons by some of these countries is currently suspended.
Others, such as members of the German coalition government, are concerned that sending weapons to Ukraine could provoke Russia into targeting Western governments.
Victory in the flat region of eastern Ukraine requires weapons such as tanks and personnel carriers, which is why Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelinsky has declared Ukraine’s life dependent on the importation of heavy weapons.
An informed Pentagon official told Faris Policy that the Pentagon plans to train Ukrainian forces in NATO member states in Eastern Europe to use radar and artillery systems.
Washington has also announced the supply of alternative weapons to Eastern European countries in exchange for arms deliveries to Ukraine, and in exchange for the S-300 supply to Ukraine, has deployed the Patriot missile defense system in Slovakia. It also signed a contract to send 250 Abrams tanks to Poland so that the country could send its tanks to Ukraine in return.
Some experts have gone further and called for the deployment of MiG fighters from Poland and Slovakia to Ukraine so that the United States could provide them with F-16 fighters.
Gen. Ben Hodges, a former commander of US forces in Europe, says the threat of a direct war between NATO and Russia has been exaggerated and that NATO’s arsenal needs to be used to defend democracy in Ukraine.
Increasing the flow of Western weapons into Ukraine could make it harder for Russia to continue the war in eastern Ukraine.
Western officials say the Kremlin is now seeking to provide an achievement to its military until May 9, the day of Russia’s victory over Nazi Germany, and is struggling to deliver because of casualties and lack of equipment.
“Certainly no war will last forever, and I guess Russia will not be able to drag the war to June, so it has to make concessions to end the war,” said Franz Stephen Gaddy, a researcher at the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London.
