A former senior Saudi security official has claimed that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman sent a task force to Canada to assassinate him.

According to Sputnik, quoting AFP, Saad Al-Jabri, a former Saudi intelligence agent, said in an interview with the 60-minute program of the US CBS network: 2017 has been targeted.

Al-Jabri added: “A friend in the Middle East intelligence service warned me that he could face the fate of Jamal Khashgechi, a Saudi opposition journalist.

“The warning I received was this,” the former Saudi intelligence official told 60 minutes. Do not approach any Saudi diplomatic offices in Canada. Do not go to the consulate or embassy. You are at the top of the list.

He recalled that a team came to Canada in October 2018 but was fired for lying to customs officials and carrying suspicious items.

Canadian officials called the threats in Canada completely unacceptable and told the CBS that they were aware of incidents in which foreign actors were threatening Canadians.
