Global tourism villages in Iran were determined
Eight villages were introduced as Iran’s final candidates in the project of the best global tourism villages to compete at the global level.
According to Moj news agency, the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) from 2021 will introduce a topic under the title of introducing the best VillageHe mentioned the global issues of tourism and the purpose of this action is to advance the role of tourism in the protection of villages.
This organization has determined major indicators such as the availability of resources and attractions, restoration and protection of resources, social sustainability, environmental sustainability, tourism value chain, government priority and governance, infrastructure and communications, and safety and security for the evaluation of candidate villages.
These indicators are divided into 40 sub-indices, which include comprehensive information about villages.
For this purpose, 130 villages from all the villages of the country entered the initial stage of selection. Then, based on the indicators of the World Organization, this number was reduced to 30 villages, and finally, based on the declared capacity for each country, 8 villages were selected as the final candidates of Iran.
Kandwan village in East Azerbaijan, Maimand village in Kerman province, Soheili village in Hormozgan province, Qasimabad village in Gilan, Kandlos village in Mazandaran, Abyaneh village in Isfahan province, Palangan village in Kurdistan province and Bisheh village in Lorestan province are the villages that will participate as representatives of the Republic of Iran in this global competition.
In this regard, in addition to completing the file of Iran’s candidate villages, supporting documents including clips introducing tourism attractions and potentials and related images were prepared and uploaded to the World Tourism Organization system.
