The popularity of the Korean series Squid Game has led to the release of various programs under this name; But recently, Google has removed the combined game application from the Play Store.

It is true that the first season of the famous compound game series is over; But the impact of the new Netflix series is still seen in different forms. The incredible success of Squid Game has made many people think of making money from its name, including the developers of Android applications.

Deleting the game application composed of Google Play Store

Hundreds of apps related to composite games have been created so far, and more than 200 of them are in the Google Play Store. These programs have been downloaded a total of one million times worldwide. Unfortunately, at the moment, there are very good conditions for fraudsters to take full advantage of the enthusiasm created around this series.

Recently, a cybersecurity researcher named Lukas Stefanko found out that a program called Squid Wallpaper 4K HD gives hackers the necessary access to send adware (scams) or unwanted purchases of SMS subscriptions.

The malware in question is called the Joker and has previously been seen in several different applications in the Google Play Store. Stefanco said that before Google removed the app, about 5,000 people had it installed on their phones. Users who have downloaded the composite game app should remove it from their phone as soon as possible and then scan the device with an antivirus.

The bottom line is that even in the Google App Store, there may be dangerous malware; Therefore, before downloading applications and games, you should also pay attention to the name of the developer and his reputation.
