There are more than 13,000 hemophilia patients in the whole country, 2,500 of whom live in Tehran province and need 42,000 vials of medicine every month, while according to the information obtained, 5,400 medicines are currently being distributed.
Several patients complained about the shortage of this medicine by visiting or calling Fars news agency and asked for a solution to this problem and their indecision.
One of the patients who had a bleeding problem in the tooth area said, “I don’t know how to get my medicine for this issue.”
One of the other hemophilia patients stated that the medicine in our case is very scarce and stated: The import of the medicine we need was stopped two years ago and the domestic company announced that it can produce and supply this medicine.
We are facing a shortage of medicine for 4 months
He continued: Hemophilia patients have been facing a shortage of medicine for about 4 months, and the domestic manufacturing company has also announced that the reason for not producing medicine was due to the Ministry of Health’s misrepresentation of the medicine status to this company.
This hemophilia patient stated that there are 6,800 hemophilia patients in the country who need factor 8 medicine, and he clarified: this is while only 5,600 factor 8 has been produced and this number is also distributed among patients as a dropper.
He said: “Unfortunately, the drug mafia has infiltrated and caused problems in the supply of drugs needed by hemophilia patients.”

The head of Iran’s Hemophilia Association stated that hemophiliacs are stressed when faced with the lack of needed medicine, and added: In the current situation, any hemophiliac patient who needed medicine and did not have it can go to government hospitals, and hospitals are also obliged to provide medicine to these patients. provide
The drug will arrive by the end of December
Farzadi Far emphasized: Medicines for hemophilia patients will be distributed in pharmacies by the end of January.
With the follow-up that we had from the department of hemophilia patients of Imam Khomeini Hospital, one of the active people in this department also informed about the lack of medicine for these patients.
This is due to the fact that a domestic pharmaceutical company is producing this drug, but the amount of drug production in this company still does not meet the needs of patients in the country.
Medicines for specific patients are rationed
Bahram Ainullahi, Minister of Health and Treatment Yesterday, on the sidelines of the meeting of the government board, in the group of journalists, in response to a question about the distribution process of special medicines, he stated: We distribute special medicines on a quota basis.
However, the lack of medicine is a problem for all patients, but this deficiency can have a more vital aspect for some patients and expose them to risks; As a result, the Ministry of Health is obliged to provide the medicine for these patients with the correct planning and management of this issue and provide them with the medicine as soon as possible without causing any tension and psychological pressure.
