“Hero” won two National Critics Board Awards



The annual awards of the American National Critics Board awarded two awards for best foreign film and best screenplay of the year to “Hero” by Asghar Farhadi.

Theater News Base: The list of winners of this year’s NBR Awards was announced, and Paul Thomas Anderson’s “Pizza Licorice” won three Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor (Alana Heim and Cooper Hoffman) and “Hero” Directed by Asghar Farhadi, the representative of Iranian cinema at the 2022 Oscars, he also won two awards for Best Foreign Language Film of the Year and Best Original Screenplay (Original).

Farhadi won the Best Foreign Language Film and Screenplay Award at the US National Critics Circle Awards. The main year of these awards goes to Farhadi.

“King Richard” and “Macbeth Tragedy” were two other films that won two awards from the National Critics Board along with “Hero.”

Best Original Screenplay: Hero (Asghar Farhadi)

Best Adapted Screenplay: The Macbeth Tragedy (Joel Cohen)

Best Emerging Actress: Alana Heim, Cooper Hoffman (Pizza Licorice)

Best First Director: Michel Sarnowski (Pig)

Best Feature Animation: Enkanto

Best Foreign Language Film: Hero

Best Documentary: Summer of Sol … (… or When the Revolution Cannot Be Broadcast on TV)

Best Acting Team: They fall harder

Cinematography Award: Bruno Delboone (Macbeth Tragedy)

National Critics Board Freedom of Expression Award: Escape Documentary

The National Critics Committee Awards will be presented on January 11, 2022.
