According to the Fars news agency’s health correspondent, it has been said since ancient times that a bad year can be seen from its spring. This year’s spring and Eid has coincided with the blessed month of Ramadan and has given blessings, peace and serenity to the Eid fasting people. Nowruz and Ramadan are important and precious days for Iranians. In both of these days, many people spend the night and entertain the fasting people in order to gain mercy and receive the reward of hospitality. But some people don’t follow their diet and can’t easily enjoy these auspicious days.

Saronaz Ali Asgari, expert in nutrition and diet therapy About the nutrition of the fasting people during Nowruz Eid, he said: a series of food items such as nuts, sweets and chocolates are used more during Nowruz than other times of the year. One of the problems that fasting people always face is thirst. This thirst is aggravated by dehydration or the use of inappropriate foods, and the fasting person is more bothered.

Discard salted nuts

He said about the conditions of using nuts during the holy month of Ramadan: Nuts are fat seeds and their excessive consumption causes thirst. Also, many people tend to consume salted nuts, and it is recommended to use raw nuts in the right amount during the month of fasting to reduce thirst.

Use dry sweets

Regarding the consumption of sweets during Nowruz and Ramadan, Ali Asgari emphasized: Some foods and snacks, such as sweets and chocolates, increase thirst. In order to be able to enjoy Nowruz sweets and fast more easily, we should leave wet sweets and use dry sweets. Because sweet sweets absorb water in the body and the fasting person experiences false thirst.

A suitable drink for the holy month of Ramadan

This expert in nutrition and diet therapy said about liquids suitable for fasting people: To prevent thirst during the fasting hours, it is better for fasting people to consume six to eight glasses of water between dawn and iftar. Also, khashir syrup and sherbet eggs, chicory extract, musk willow extract with a little lime and honey will be a very good potion to quench the thirst of fasting people. Of course, it is better for diabetics not to use lime and honey in this syrup.

Forbidden foods in breakfast

He pointed out: Avoid eating foods such as potato coco, cutlet, vegetable coco, kebab and roast chicken for breakfast. Because these foods are fatty and heavy, and a person gets very thirsty during the fasting hours.
