Identification of 247 low-income neighborhoods in Tehran province

According to Fars report, the first meeting of the social, cultural, health, women and family working group of Tehran province focused on the review of the latest implementation status of the project of empowerment of underprivileged neighborhoods under the chairmanship of Alireza Fakhari, the governor of Tehran, and with the presence of Agha Mohammadi, head of the staff of empowerment of underprivileged neighborhoods, Keihan Consultant and general manager of the governor’s area. Johari, political and social deputy of the governor, deputy security and law enforcement deputy of the governor and other members were held.
In this meeting, referring to the identification of 247 low-income neighborhoods in Tehran province, Fakhari stated: 90 neighborhoods have been identified in the cities of Tehran province and 157 neighborhoods have been identified in Tehran city.
He added: Identifying the problems of these neighborhoods in various areas and upgrading the neighborhoods in the fields of education, accommodation, health and treatment, and infrastructure development are being pursued.
The governor of Tehran said: By creating popular organizations in neighborhoods, including neighborhood mayors, we will try to manage affairs by the people, and in the near future, we will witness the level of participation in the neighborhoods and improve the levels of the less privileged neighborhoods.
Fakhari said: “The four main welfare agencies, the relief committee, the executive headquarters of Farman Imam (RA) and the Red Crescent are participating in the implementation of this project so that measures are taken in different areas and with the approach of revitalizing the neighborhoods.”
He pointed out: Targeting for the creation of 300,000 residential units with the priority of dilapidated structures in these neighborhoods has been taken into consideration, which will help the economy and livelihood of families in the neighborhoods.
