In an interview with Mehr, Dariush Abu Hamzeh considered the lack of information and data as one of the most important shortcomings in the field of health insurance and added: “Unfortunately, in the field of health insurance, a large part of our low-income community does not have any health insurance.” Therefore, we are trying to identify low-income families without basic health insurance by concluding a memorandum of understanding and starting cooperation with the Health Insurance Organization, and provide the data of these families to the Health Insurance Organization so that they can enjoy basic health insurance. .
He continued: “This cooperation has started in the first phase in Tehran province and will continue in other provinces of the country if the desired result is achieved.”
The Deputy Minister of Social Welfare of the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare stated: Another regulation that has been prepared based on the information of the Iranian Welfare Database is related to the exemption of low-income families from paying premiums for the Public Insurance Fund for Natural Disasters. According to this regulation, low-income families do not need to pay insurance premiums to enjoy the facilities of this fund, and these people will be introduced to the relevant institutions by the Ministry of Cooperation, Labor and Social Welfare.
Regarding the improvement of workers ‘livelihoods, he added: “Also, in order to improve workers’ livelihoods, a proposal to amend Article 86 of the Social Security Law to be included in the 1401 budget has been submitted to the Islamic Consultative Assembly.” They will enjoy this right after 30 days, and this will be a good help to the livelihood of the workers, who are mainly in the lower income deciles. The bill to make this article permanent is also being sent to the government’s social commission.
Abu Hamza emphasized: Special measures have been taken for some other social harms. Examples include pursuing amendments to the law on working children and pursuing the implementation of the Child and Adolescent Protection Law. According to the by-laws written for the Law on the Protection of Children and Adolescents, each body has specific duties, and we in the Social Welfare Department follow up on the implementation of these tasks from different bodies.
According to him, one of the duties of this deputy is to respond to protests in the field of cash subsidies and livelihoods. In the last six months, more than 3,000 written requests and protests in the field of subsidies have been considered. Compatriots have also had more than 156,000 phone calls in the last 6 months, whose issues have been investigated by our colleagues and the necessary measures have been taken.
The Deputy Minister of Social Welfare of the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare, referring to the Minister’s follow-up and holding the first meeting of the High Welfare Council in the 13th government, which was not held in the last 5 years, said: That the various agencies work closely with the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare to develop and implement a comprehensive multidimensional action plan to combat poverty.
