Injecting 2 million and 500 thousand residential units into the housing market by levying taxes on empty houses

According to the urban reporter of Fars news agency, Hojjatul Islam Seyyed Mohammad Aghamiri, a member of the Tehran City Council, said in today’s session of the City Council about tax issues in Tehran: Our goal with the tax on empty houses was not to collect taxes, but to include them in the housing cycle. Identifying these houses is to solve housing problems.

He added: We have 2,500,000 vacant housing units, of which 1,800,000 units belong to those who own more than one property. The law in this field should be such that these people pay their capital housing tax.

Aghamiri said: 30% tax for the second house should be increased, and for more houses, the tax should be increased.

This member of the Tehran City Council said: If the Tax Affairs Organization intervenes, 2 million and 500,000 residential units can be injected into the country, and this action will only be made possible by the Tax Affairs Organization.
