Invitation to Saudi Arabia to join the intangible registration case of iftar feast

According to the report of Arya Heritage reporter, Rakan Al-Tooq, Special Assistant to the Minister of Culture of Saudi Arabia and Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al-Balihad, Secretary General of the UNESCO National Commission in Saudi Arabia, met with Ali Darabi, Deputy Minister and Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts.
According to this report, in this meeting, Darabi emphasized Iran’s readiness to expand joint cultural activities, develop tourism, and take joint measures in the field of cultural heritage, such as preparing joint files for the World Register of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
In this meeting, Darabi, referring to Iran’s proposed case for the global registration of the intangible heritage of the Iftar feast, invited Saudi Arabia to join this case.
In this regard, he stated: The iftar feast is a very valuable and common heritage among all Muslims, which is a good tradition from the beloved Prophet of Islam, Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), which has been left as a memory for us Muslims.
In this meeting, Rakan Al-Tooq also emphasized the importance of developing cultural and tourism relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia and said: There are many common areas in the field of cultural heritage, tourism and handicrafts of Iran and Saudi Arabia, and safeguarding the common intangible heritage of Muslims, including the Iftar feast of It is of great importance.
Also, in this meeting, while offering Saudi Arabia’s respects to Iran and good wishes for attending the meeting of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, Al-Tooq invited Iran to participate in the 2025 International Tourism Exhibition, which will be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
