IPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max come with a hole in the screen and a 48-megapixel camera

While Apple has just unveiled the iPhone 13 family of phones and has not yet made them available to buyers, we are seeing reports of their next generation. Apple product analyst Mink-Chi Koo claims in a note that Apple uses the screen hole for the iPhone 14 Pro models to host a selfie camera.

Apple iPhones have been around for a long time, and the latest Cupertino phones, the iPhone 13 series, have followed suit, although their notch size has been reduced. This is despite the fact that many Android flagships, from the Galaxy S21 series to the Xiaomi May 11, have only one slot for a selfie camera.

Now it looks like Apple wants to do the same from next year, leaving only a small hole in the screen for the selfie camera so we don’t have a wide notch at the top of the panel. This design style would mean placing the Facebook ID system under the display, as the Cupertinos have no plans to remove the security system.

Koo also said that Apple is working on iPhones equipped with a touch-screen sensor below the display for release in 2023, so if the iPhone 14 Pro models arrive with a hole in the screen, the Facebook ID system should be placed under the panel. Of course, there is a possibility that the Touch ID will be moved below the power button, although such an approach can not be expected.

Removing the notch will not only improve the iPhone 14 Pro models, as Cu announced that the Cupertinos will use a 48-megapixel main camera, which is a much higher resolution than the current generation 12-megapixel camera.

Apple will unveil the iPhone 14 family of phones in the second half of 2022, which is the period when the iPhone 13 series phones were introduced. Therefore, we are almost a year away from introducing them, and certainly many reports about them will be published during this period. Of course, before these products, Apple will unveil the third generation iPhone SE with 5G network support in the first half of 2022.
