According to the foreign policy group of Fars news agency, Hossein Amirabdollahian, Minister of Foreign Affairs and General Syed Asim Munir, Commander of Pakistan Army, who arrived in Tehran yesterday (Sunday, July 25) with the aim of meeting and consulting with high-ranking political and military officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran. They met at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and discussed the relations between the two countries and important regional and international issues.

Appreciating the positive and constructive role of the Pakistan Army Commander in border security cooperation and fighting terrorism, the Minister of Foreign Affairs in this meeting emphasized the necessity of transforming the borders into economically prosperous borders and expanding the border bazaars, which will bring about the welfare of the border residents and the development of the border provinces. .

Emphasizing the new atmosphere prevailing in the region, Amir Abdollahian expressed his hope that the two countries will be able to take further steps in the field of strengthening and deepening the relations between them by taking advantage of the strategic view of the issues of the Islamic world and surrounding issues as well as the cultural and popular commonalities.

In this meeting, General Syed Asim Munir, the commander of the Pakistani army, said that Pakistan is happy to have a neighbor like Iran and welcomes the expansion of relations in all fields.

While emphasizing the importance of the agreements made with the Iranian authorities during this trip, he expressed hope that with the implementation of these agreements, the people of the two countries will see the results of this cooperation as soon as possible.

In this meeting, the parties also discussed and exchanged views on expanding economic relations, countering terrorist groups, increasing cross-border cooperation, Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline, and electricity exports, emphasizing the very close relations between the two neighboring countries.
