Iranian and Saudi officials meet on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly



The meeting took place at the residence of the Iraqi ambassador in New York and was attended by the foreign ministers and senior representatives of Iran, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Egypt, Qatar, Jordan, Turkey, France, the European Union and the European Union, IRNA reported on Wednesday from Bloomberg. Iran has also met with European foreign ministers on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly to discuss a comprehensive nuclear deal or regional issues.
Bloomberg quoted the Iranian Foreign Ministry as saying that the Iranian Foreign Ministry considered this meeting with its Arab neighbors as a continuation of the visit to Baghdad on August 28 this year.
According to a statement from the Iranian Foreign Ministry, the participants in the meeting agreed to meet on another date in Jordan.
Yesterday, Iran announced that it expects talks with Western countries on the Borjam issue to resume within a month.
The United States unilaterally withdrew from Burjam three years ago under the Donald Trump administration, and Saudi Arabia supported the move.
Europe has asked Iran to return to the Borjam talks. On the other hand, the President of Iran, Ayatollah Seyyed Ibrahim Raisi, while announcing Iran’s readiness to return to the Borjam talks, stressed that the talks are useful when they lead to the lifting of all sanctions against Iran.
According to IRNA, US President Joe Biden, in his speech at the UN General Assembly on Tuesday, reiterated his claim that Washington was conditionally ready to return to the UN Security Council, and said that if Iran fulfills its obligations to the UN Security Council, the United States will His obligations are returned.
In his first speech to the UN General Assembly as President of the United States, Biden also claimed that Iran should not acquire nuclear weapons, without mentioning that the Zionist regime is the biggest nuclear threat to regional security.
High-ranking officials of the Islamic Republic have repeatedly stressed that Iran does not seek to acquire a nuclear weapon and prohibits it. The Islamic Republic of Iran has also repeatedly stated that the lifting of all oppressive US sanctions is necessary to revive Borjam.
