Iran’s national freestyle wrestling team on the third platform of the world / gold that fell in love – Mehr News Agency | Iran and world’s news



According to the Mehr reporter, the freestyle wrestling competitions of the 2021 World Championships were held in Oslo, Norway from 10 to 13 October. In the end, the Iranian team was defeated by Hassan Yazdani (86 kg), Kamran Ghasempour (92 kg) and Amir Hossein Zare ( 125 kg in gold, Alireza Sarlak in 57 kg, Amir Mohammad Yazdani in 65 kg and Mohammad Nakhodi in 79 kg won silver and Mojtaba Gleej in 97 kg.

In the team ranking, the Iranian team came in third with 162 points, and the Russian teams came in first and second with 173 and the United States with 165 points, respectively.

The results of our country’s wrestlers in these competitions are as follows:

In the 57 kg weight category, Alireza Sarlak, after a break in the first round, defeated Giuseppe Villarro of Ecuador 11-0 in the second round and advanced to the quarterfinals. At this stage, he crossed the Arian Tsiotrin Dam in Belarus in a close wrestling with a result of 7-6 and reached the semi-finals. At this stage, Sarlak defeated world silver medalist Suleyman Atli from Turkey with a score of 7: 4 and advanced to the final match. In the final match, he lost 5: 3 to Thomas Gilman, the Olympic bronze and world silver medalist from the United States, and won the silver medal.

In the 61 kg weight category, Rahman Amouzad crossed the Gomsatgadzi Halidov Dam in Hungary in the first wrestling with a result of 5: 0. In the next round, he lost 9-5 to Toshihiro Hasgawa, the world under-23 gold medalist from Japan, and his cousin dropped out of the competition due to the wrestler’s defeat in the semi-finals.

In the 65 kg weight category, Amir Mohammad Yazdani defeated Gabriel Janatz of Austria 10-0 in the first round. In the next round, he defeated Sebastian Rio of Puerto Rico 13-3 and advanced to the quarterfinals. At this stage, Yazdani defeated Krzysztof Binkowski of Poland 4-2 and advanced to the semifinals. At this stage, he defeated Alibak Usmanov of Kyrgyzstan 5-4 to advance to the final. In the final, he lost 14-4 to European champions Jagir Shahif of Russia in a surprise win and won the silver medal.

In the 70 kg weight category, Erfan Elahi defeated world bronze medalist Gintaro Motoyama of Japan 8: 0 in the first round. In the next round, he overcame Moldova’s Nikolai Grahms 4-2 to advance to the quarterfinals. Elahi lost to Kyrgyzstan’s Arnazar Akmat Aliyev 8-8 at this stage, and due to the wrestler’s victory over his Russian opponent in the semifinals, Elahi went to the losers. In this group, he lost to Arman Andrasyan from Armenia in a close wrestling with a result of 6: 5 and was eliminated from the competition.

In the 74 kg weight category, Younes Emami defeated Bayambadorj Enkhbayar of Mongolia 12-2 in the first round. In the next round, he defeated Kazakhstan, the world silver medalist and Asian champion Norkja Kaipanov, 12-0, to advance to the quarterfinals. At this stage, Emami lost 10: 1 to world silver medalist Otandil Kentchadze from Georgia, and due to the wrestler’s defeat in the semi-finals, Emami was eliminated from the competition.

In the 79 kg weight category, Mohammad Nakhodi defeated Aaron Canova from Italy in the first round with a result of 11: 0. In the second round, he defeated Arman Avagayan from Armenia 8-4 and advanced to the quarterfinals. At this stage, he defeated Seifuddin Alkma from France with a result of 11 to 0 and reached the semi-final stage. At this stage, Nakhodi crossed the barrier of Nika Kentchadze, the gold medalist of the under-23 world, through Georgia with a result of 6: 5 and reached the final match. In the final, he defeated Olympic and world champion Jordan Burroughs of the United States 5-1 to win the silver medal.

In the 86 kg weight category, Hassan Yazdani defeated the government of Kazakhstan Bekov 12-2 in the second round after a break in the first round. In the next round and in the quarter-finals, he defeated Ethan Ramos of Puerto Rico with a score of 10: 0 and advanced to the semi-finals. At this stage, he passed the barrier of Olympic and world bronze medalist Arthur Nayfonov with a result of 8: 2 and reached the final match. He won the final match against Olympic and world champion David Taylor from the United States with a result of 6: 2 and broke the spell of defeat of this wrestler and won the gold medal.

In the 92 kg weight category, Kamran Ghasempour, after a break in the first round in the second round, crossed the Drill Valausev barrier from Ukraine with a result of 7: 0 and reached the quarterfinals. In the next round, he defeated world bronze medalist Irakli Metsitori of Georgia 8-1 and advanced to the semifinals. At this stage, Qasempour won a breathtaking match against world champion Jay Dan Cox from the United States with a result of 3: 3 and reached the final match. In the final match against Magomed Kurbanov, he defeated the European champion from Russia and won the gold medal.

In the 97 kg weight category, Mojtaba Gleij defeated Elizbar Odikadze of Georgia 4-0 in the first round. In the next round, with a score of 10: 0, he defeated Radu Lifter from Moldova and advanced to the quarterfinals. At this stage, he defeated Asian silver medalist Alishir Yergali of Kazakhstan 6-1 and advanced to the semifinals. At this stage, Glige went against Olympic and world champion Kyle Snyder from the United States, but lost 3: 2 in a close wrestling match and went to the qualifying match. In this match, his opponent defeated the Asian silver medalist Batzul Olzisayikhan from Mongolia with a result of 10: 0 and won the bronze medal.

In the 125 kg weight category, Amir Hossein Zare, after a break in the first round, defeated Dezanis Kharamiankov of Belarus 6-0 in the second round and advanced to the quarterfinals. At this stage, with a result of 10 to 0, he defeated the world bronze medalist Nikolas Goyazdovsky from the United States and reached the semi-finals. At this stage, he crossed the barrier of Olympic and world champion Taha Akgul from Turkey with a result of 4: 0 and reached the final match. In this match, Zare defeated Gnu Petriashvili, the holder of world gold and Olympic silver medals from Georgia, in a calculated result with a result of 9: 2, and after 32 years and after the living memory of Alireza Soleimani, Iran won the gold medal for the second time. The world weighed in heavily.
