Iran’s readiness to accept renewable energy investment

According to Fars News Agency, quoting the information base of the Ministry of Energy, Minister of Energy Ali Akbar Mehrabian said this Monday morning at the second meeting of energy ministers in China on “Green and inclusive energy” which was held by video conference: “Undoubtedly overcoming challenges The world in the 21st century needs multilateralism, respect for international law, reform of political and economic governance institutions, and the development of international cooperation.

Referring to the issue of green energy, the Minister of Energy said: “Where the economy has played a more prominent role than ever before and energy geoeconomics has opened a new chapter in the world, green energy, regardless of environmental considerations, has become economically important and the use of the word green Along with energy sources, with the reduction of carbon dioxide production, harmony with the environment and the absence of environmental pollution have become synonymous.
Mehrabian considered the electricity industry as one of the vital and fundamental infrastructures of other industries and specified: this industry plays an important role in the industrial and economic development of countries, due to the need for it in the process of producing goods and products and ultimately GDP.
He said that electricity, while causing the growth of quality of life, has a direct relationship with sustainable development, prosperity and increased production in different societies, he added: In the meantime on the world stage, moving from the use of fossil energy to generate electricity Towards renewable energy, due to environmental considerations, it has intensified and led to the development and increase of the share of energy portfolios of clean and renewable electricity in different countries. The development of the electricity industry has taken place in recent decades.
The Minister of Energy stated: The Islamic Republic of Iran, like other responsible countries, respects the issue of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and adapting to climate change and seeks an ideal and pollution-free world, therefore with rich fossil energy reserves and Renewable has supported and prioritized clean and green energy investments and investors.
According to Mehrabian, Iran’s real capacity to produce renewable energy is very high due to its texture and geographical location, and the volume of renewable energy production in Iran has increased in recent years.
He stressed that the current government of Iran has a four-year plan to increase 10,000 MW of renewable energy, emphasizing: Iran’s renewable energy development market, relying on the high potential of renewable energy sources including solar, wind, biomass, geothermal, through the possibility of contract Long-term contracts with incentive rates are a very attractive market for investors.
The Minister of Energy continued: “Iran has a law to encourage and support foreign investment and has provided a good economic opportunity for investors in the field of renewal to create renewable farms, which, if necessary, can be explained in more specialized meetings.”
Mehrabian announced Iran’s readiness to accept investment in the development of renewable energy in the direction of a green and inclusive energy future.
The summit was attended by more than 15 energy ministers and officials from various countries, including Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, Algeria, Pakistan, Cuba and Serbia.
