Is Snapdragon better or Exynos and MediaTek?

Study time: 3 Minutes

You’ve probably all heard the familiar names Snapdragon, Exynos, and MediaTek; These names are actually the names of mobile phone processors with different brands, and there is a lot of discussion about their power and efficiency. The following is a comparison between Snapdragon, Exynos and MediaTek; Do you think Snapdragon is better or Exynos and MediaTek?

Is Snapdragon better or Exynos and MediaTek?

Snapdragon, MediaTek and Exynos are some of the most well-known smartphone processors on the market. They have been around for a long time and have successfully powered several smartphones over the years. Determining which processor is better is not easy because they have their own advantages in many ways.

We would have preferred a comparison in the 5G field, but since Helio is mentioned, we will do the comparison in the 4G level. First consider the Snapdragon 730, Exynos 9611 and MediaTek Helio G90T.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 is an ARM-based fast mid-range SoC found mainly on Android tablets and smartphones. This processor divides eight cores into two categories. A fast performance cluster includes two ARM Cortex-A76 cores clocked at up to 2.2 GHz and a power efficiency cluster with six small ARM Cortex-A55 cores up to a maximum of 1.8 GHz.

Samsung Exynos 9611 is a mid-range SoC for Android-based smartphones and tablets. It integrates 8 CPU cores into two clusters. It has four cores ARM Cortex A73 that offers speeds up to 2.2 GHz for hard work and four cores ARM Cortex A53 up to 1.7 GHz for energy efficiency. Compared to the older Exynos 9610, the 9611 supports higher resolution for the rear camera.

The Mediatek Helio G90T is a core ARM chipset for smartphones. This processor is made in 12-nanometer FinFET process and is equipped with 2 large ARM Cortex-A76 cores with a maximum of 2.05 GHz and 6 small and low-power ARM Cortex-A55 cores that are capable of delivering 2.2 GHz in two clusters. The chip also has an ARM Mali-G76 3EEMC4 GPU clocked at around 800 MHz.

As you can see, the CPU speed of all three smartphone processors is about the same, although the Helio G90T is superior to the GPU. All of them are considered mid-range smartphone processors and are offered and offered by brands in the same category. It should be noted, however, that the Mediatek Helio G90T is the most affordable of all three processors.

In terms of benchmark scores, Snapdragon has 730 AnTuTu 200,000 points. The Mediatek Helio G90T has a score of 283333 and the Exynos 9611 has a score of about 200,000. It is clear that the Mediatek chipset is a clear winner in terms of performance and speed.

As I mentioned at the beginning, it is difficult to reach a definite conclusion about which processor is the best choice. But in this comparison, it is quite clear that the Mediatek Helio G90T with a strong benchmark score is a better choice than the Snapdragon and Exynos processors. It is also affordable, which adds an advantage in terms of accessibility to consumers in all categories.
