According to the General Directorate of Public Relations of the Judiciary, Hojjatoleslam and Muslimeen Mohseni Ejei, the head of the Judiciary, sent a message of condolences to the late Ayatollah Safi Golpayegani.

The text of the message of the head of the judiciary is as follows:

we are for God and we return to him

مِذَا مَاتَ الْعَالِمُ ثُلِمَ فِي الْإسْلَامِ ثُلْمَةٌ لَا يَسُدُّهَا

The demise of the Grand Ayatollah Safi Golpayegani caused regret and impression. Throughout his enlightened life and with the blessings of this eminent scholar and jurist, the school of God (peace be upon him) and especially during the time he was present in the esteemed Guardian Council by the founder of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Raheel, has always been a source of great good for seminaries, the holy system of the republic. It has been Islamic and the honorable people of Iran.

I mourn the loss of this great authority in the presence of Hazrat Baqiyatullah Al-Azam Arvahana Fadaha and his rightful successor, Grand Ayatollah Khamenei (as), the great authorities of imitation and the great scholars and scholars of the seminaries and the general Shiites, their devotees and imitators. In particular, I offer my condolences to the Holy House of God, and I ask God Almighty to grant them the highest degrees and extensive forgiveness, and for the survivors and relatives, a great reward and beautiful patience.
